Penthouse Vung Tau
Situated within the coastal city of Vung Tau, renowned for its seaside charm, a penthouse on the 25th floor was meticulously crafted to cater to the preferences of a devout Buddhist client.

The spiritual orientation of the client holds significant sway over their vision for the space. The intention is to transform the site from a mundane concrete expanse into a serene sanctuary. This tranquil area is envisioned as a haven for family wellness activities, encompassing breathing exercises and stretches. Moreover, the client envisions a place where friends can partake in leisurely sightseeing. The paramount consideration is capitalizing on the exceptional vistas offered by the location. The landscape architects must adroitly harness these breathtaking views. However, it's imperative that they also address the prevailing wind directions to ensure the safety and comfort of users on a day-to-day basis.
We step around borders
A central column within the courtyard poses a substantial challenge. It obscures the panoramic coastal view and can be a source of irritation for users. Regrettably, removing the column is not feasible. The sole resolution entails a reimagining of the column's aesthetics.

The conceptual notion for the column revolves around its integration with the skyline. The aspiration is to prolong the allure of the skyline, thus preserving its captivating beauty. To achieve this, intricate lines were sketched onto the column, effectively melding it into the visual frame, leaving the skyline as the predominant focus.

The rooftop is adorned with an infinity pond, its center graced by cascading stairs. This configuration creates an illusion of profound depth and arouses curiosity about the origin of these stairs. The backdrop draws parallels to the lotus ponds commonly found in Buddhist pagodas, instilling a sense of familiarity for the client seeking a tranquil retreat in their own front yard.

Guided by the principles of Geometricism, the design draws inspiration from squares and plates that symbolize the terrestrial and celestial realms. The rhythm is evocative of waves, appearing in an unpredictable cadence to signify concepts such as reincarnation, rejuvenation, progression, expansion, and decline.
